Partant de l’hégémonie de l’anglais et d’asymétries de valorisation des corpus scientifiques que les chercheurs s’emploient à résoudre grâce aux outils dits d’« intelligence artificielle », nous proposons un rapide diagnostic de l’éloignement progressif des traditions francophones et anglophones de la psychanalyse groupale. Nous faisons ensuite l’hypothèse d’un dialogue fructueux des corpus français avec des courants anglophones (systems psychodynamics) en discutant trois apports articulables à la tradition française : l’institution – ou organization-in-the-mind, les défenses sociales contre l’angoisse, et les « rôles empoisonnés ». Nous invitons notre champ à poursuivre un travail complémentariste afin de pérenniser l’approche psychanalytique des groupes et des institutions dans le champ de la recherche et de la formation universitaires.

Starting from the hegemony of English and asymmetries in the valuation of scientific corpora, which researchers are working to resolve using so-called ‘artificial intelligence’ tools, we offer a quick diagnosis of the gradual distancing of French-speaking and English-speaking traditions of group psychoanalysis. We then hypothesise a fruitful dialogue between French bodies of work and English-speaking currents (systems psychodynamics) by discussing three contributions that can be articulated with the French tradition: the institution – or organisation-in-the-mind, social defences against anxiety, and ‘poisoned roles’. We invite our field to continue complementary work in order to perpetuate the psychoanalytic approach to groups and institutions in the field of university research and training.
