520 _aIn this article, the authors offer a look at the CMPP (Centre médico-psycho-pédagogique; Medico-Psycho-Educational Center) treatment of a child hampered by massive inhibition. They aim to show how the combination of parental support and individual psychotherapy gradually lifted the inhibition. The first part of the article describes the family’s arrival at the clinic in the context of bereavement and the consultation that followed, enabling an initial period of elaboration and differentiation, an essential prerequisite for providing individual treatment for the child. The second part is devoted to child psychotherapy and its clinical evolution during sessions.
