520 _aThe purpose of this article is to present the characteristics of the Structure-Conduct-Performance model of the industrial organization, as well as the criticisms it has provoked since its initial formulation in the 1950/1960s, up to today. Thus the evolution of the S-C-P paradigm has shown that it has always been criticized, by the followers of the Chicago School in the 1970s, then by the founders of the theory of contestable markets in the 1980s, and finally those of the “new” industrial economy at the beginning of the 1990s, by changing some of its basic characteristics. The fact remains that the S-C-P paradigm is never called into question.JEL Codes: L1, L22, L23
