520 _aThe medical certificate issued by the Maison départementale des personnes handicapées (MDPH) provides the information needed by the MDPH’s multidisciplinary team to assess a child’s compensation needs. This assessment, combined with consideration of the child’s life plan and environmental factors, will be decisive in the choice of measures to be implemented. It is therefore important that general practitioners are able to complete this certificate correctly. Form 7 highlights the essential elements to be included on the certificate, and lists the main functional impairments and activity limitations experienced by children with visual impairments.
