520 _aAnalysis of the literature shows that risk has been studied at the level of organizations and risk specialists through the function of risk manager. This synthesis also highlights that the perception of risk is more important than the risk itself. The authors were therefore interested in the perception of risk on the part of non-specialists, namely managers and executives. This exploratory study of seventeen managers and executives shows a generally negative perception of risk and significant nuances between the perception of managers and executives. Contrary to the literature, the interviewees do not make probabilistic calculations, do not have a comprehensive view of the latter, and are focused on professional risk. The activity of the respondent and his or her business sector are two factors that strongly influence the perception of risk. Two stakeholders appear to be major sources of risk: employees and customers.
