520 _aThis paper demonstrates how any changes to Martinique and Guadeloupian companies encounter resistance from racial structures and divides that are profoundly anchored in the culture and inherited from colonialism and slavery. In companies, these shape identities, hierarchical relationships, the division of labor, and individual and collective behaviors. In this difficult situation, the personal and professional identity of the consultant is called into question. However, in order to maintain the position of third-party, he should lean on ethical values and convictions, but also on solid theoretical bases (intervention theory, analysis of Martiniquais society and its history).
