520 _aIn the Apocryphal Acts of John (ActJ), a passage paraphrases the Lord’s Prayer. The present study thus confirms the hypothesis that Adalbert Gautier Hamman had expressed in 1963. However, because ActJ 75 is not addressed to the Father, but to Jesus Christ, it underlines the “christomonism” that the majority of scholars attribute to the Acts of John. Further, the parallels between this prayer and the Lord’s Prayer demonstrate the importance of the Lord’s Prayer in second-century Christianity.
