This strategy of domestication of the everyday lives of Africans took place, most notably, by the delimitation of bastions of Christian faith. Here, the repertory of rural life had a defining role, which involved the ordering of domestic space and the cult of agricultural work. However, the historical consequences of this missionary project have been paradoxical.
