520 _aFungus resistant grape varieties (FRGV) are seen as a response to the current challenges of viticulture. However, the plurality of stakeholders involved complicates decision-making, generating diverse discourses and practices that hinder their adoption. This study analyses the evolution of media discourses on FRGV in France, through a cross-review of general and specialised press, complemented by a case study. It reveals a contrasted media treatment, with near-absence in mainstream outlets, a gradual alignment of discourses in favour of FRGV, and the driving role professionals from the wine industry. The study calls for consideration the commercial and marketing aspects, which will be essential to promote FRGV’s diffusion and market success. (JEL: Q16)
