520			_aIntroduction : Au sein de la patientèle d’environ un tiers des orthodontistes, au moins un patient a perdu un organe dentaire à la suite du mouvement orthodontique d’une dent présentant des antécédents de traumatisme alvéolo-dentaire. Ces dents sont plus sensibles aux risques de nécrose pulpaire, d’oblitération pulpaire, de résorption avec ou sans ankylose et de perte d’os alvéolaire. Objectif : L’objectif de cet article est de fournir aux praticiens pratiquant l’orthopédie dento-faciale une lecture facilitée de la conduite à tenir lorsqu’un patient présente un traumatisme ou un antécédent. Matériels et méthode : Une analyse de la littérature et une synthèse des recommandations existantes concernant la prise en charge orthodontique de dents permanentes traumatisées ou présentant un antécédent de traumatisme ont été menées. Ce travail est une revue narrative de la littérature, les articles inclus ayant été consultés entre janvier 1990 et juin 2023. Résultats : Les complications liées à un traumatisme alvéolo-dentaire fragilisent la dent et le parodonte, influençant la planification et la mise en œuvre du traitement orthodontique. Conclusion : Connaître la traumatologie dentaire et ses conséquences possibles permet de minimiser les risques lors d’un traitement orthodontique post-traumatique.
520			_aIntroduction : In the practices of roughly one third of orthodontists, at least one patient has experienced the loss of a tooth following orthodontic movement of a tooth with a history of dentoalveolar trauma. Such teeth are more susceptible to pulp necrosis, pulp canal obliteration, resorption (with or without ankylosis), and alveolar bone loss. Objective : This article aims to provide orthodontic practitioners with a clear and accessible guide to managing patients presenting with trauma or a history thereof. Materials and Method : A literature review and a synthesis of current recommendations regarding orthodontic management of traumatized permanent teeth or those with a history of trauma were conducted. This work is a narrative review of the literature, with articles included having been consulted between January 1990 and June 2023. Results : Complications from dentoalveolar trauma weaken the tooth and the periodontium, impacting the planning and execution of orthodontic treatment. Conclusion : Knowledge of dental traumatology and its possible consequences helps minimize risks during post-traumatic orthodontic treatment.
