520 _aThis article studies the effect of governance mechanisms on the sustainability of SMEs in Cameroon. Using data from the 2017 Statistical and Fiscal Declarations of the National Institute of Statistics (INS), representing a total of 1,500 companies, we draw a sample of 112 SMEs via purposive sampling. We conducted a cross-sectional study using structural equations via Stata 12.00 software. The results reveal a positive link between the personal characteristics of managers and sustainability. The digitalization of companies, while contributing to sustainability, does not contribute significantly to innovation.
