520 _aThe objective of this research is to study the moderating role of personality in the process of vocational choice among students in private higher-education establishments in Morocco. We analyze, in turn, the role of institutional factors in the development of normative, behavioral, and control beliefs, and the transition from those beliefs to attitude and intention. Finally, we consider the moderating role personality plays in the overall process of vocational choice. We administered 340 questionnaires and used structural equations modeling and Partial Least Squares regression to analyze the results. The results show an absence of moderating effects on the links between behavioral beliefs and intention, control beliefs and attitude, and institutional factors and the three sets of beliefs. For the remaining links, the moderating effect changes depending on personality traits. Hence, we validate the central hypothesis of the research, while path analyses validate all the adjacent hypotheses of our model except the links between behavioral beliefs and attitude. The literature review analysis has shown that the literature is fragmented, atheoretical, applied, and specific, dominated by the use of quantitative methods and descriptive analysis. This research aims to fill this gap in the literature and offers theoretical, methodological, and managerial contributions. A discussion of the results and managerial implications for both institutions and academic advisers are presented at the end.
