As with all of his work, this short story has given rise to many interpretations. However, the meaning of this text is not exhausted. A new reading is possible, based on some of Michel Foucault’s works. Reading Kafka after Foucault enables us to understand what a literary text can bring to knowledge on criminal law and policy.
