520 _aVÉgA, or Vocabulary of Ancient Egyptian, is an online dictionary that aims to become an indispensable, updated source for Egyptology, as well as a support for scientific collaborations in the decades to come. VÉgA allows for the modeling and representing of evolving knowledge in ancient Egyptian, grouping and intersecting words, their attestations, references, and their exact spellings in hieroglyphics. This tool is the result of a public / private collaboration in the LabEx Archimede within the Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3. VÉgA is the result of a new approach in the social sciences, namely Egyptology, with the integration of design tools in scientific research: indeed, LabEx Archimede relied on the expertise of an agency with experience in “research by design” that perfectly fit the needs of Egyptologists.
