L’organisme en cryptobiose montre des modifications structurales considérables, ainsi qu’une réduction de son activité métabolique au point que celle-ci soit dans certains cas indécelable. L’exemple des tardigrades permet de dégager les modalités de cet état biologique, ainsi que celles du retour à la vie active.Outre ces aspects, l’étude de la cryptobiose engendre un questionnement sur la signification évolutive de cet état et également, de manière plus fondamentale, sur les limites de la notion de vivant. | ||
