L’auteur s’interroge sur les outils sociaux et symboliques par lesquels les sociétés construisent leur rapport à la marge. Elle compare les manières dont différentes sociétés élaborent leur rapport à la psychose: ici, sous le signe d’une homogénéisation et d’une normalisation mettant au silence ce qui, dans la psychose, déborde les savoirs experts et en fait une expérience avant tout humaine; dans d’autres cultures, à partir d’une interrogation touchant aux valeurs et modes d’être centraux. Les récits de personnes psychotiques évoquent des tentatives pour apprivoiser l’expérience en s’appropriant et en transformant des représentations et symboles collectifs, en habitant à leur manière le monde social et culturel. | ||

The author examines the social and symbolic tools, through which societies conceive and enact relationships between the margins and core of the society. Comparison between different socio-cultural contexts leads her to argue that in our society, the notion of integration is biased towards homogeneization and normalization, leaving little room for what is in excess vis-à-vis expert knowledge; in other cultures, social and symbolic tools encourage to take over and pursue the personal and social questioning opened up by psychosis.
