| 520 | _aCet article a pour but de présenter l’axe « Éducation et formation » de l’Encyclopédie d’histoire numérique de l’Europe (EHNE). Inauguré en 2019, cet axe se compose aujourd’hui de plus de soixante notices thématiques rédigées par des chercheurs français et étrangers et explorant l’histoire de l’éducation et de la formation en Europe, principalement à l’époque contemporaine. Mêlant objets de recherche classiques et plus nouveaux, le tout dans une perspective européenne, le corpus remplit un double rôle : celui de vitrine d’un champ historiographique en plein renouvellement et de ressource pédagogique permettant aux enseignants du secondaire de se saisir d’une histoire de l’éducation trop souvent méconnue. Dans sa composition, il constitue aussi un essai inédit de synthèse européenne, qui se prête à la fois à une analyse quantitative, permettant de faire apparaître le traitement des différents pays européens au sein du corpus, et à une analyse qualitative des choix opérés par les auteurs pour inscrire leur objet dans une perspective européenne. Objet hybride, entre renouveau de la recherche et partage des savoirs, l’axe « Éducation et formation » nous donne ainsi des outils pour penser une histoire de l’éducation à la fois pleinement européenne et accessible au plus grand nombre. | ||
| 520 | _aThis article presents the chapter dedicated to “Education and Training” in the online encyclopedia of European history (Encyclopédie d’histoire numérique de l’Europe, EHNE). The chapter, which was created in 2019, includes more than sixty articles written by French and foreign researchers, exploring the, mainly modern, history of education and training in Europe. While combining rather classical and more recent focuses of study, it fulfils a dual role: that of a showcase for a field of historiography undergoing major and that of a teaching resource helping secondary school teachers learn more about an often overlooked field; the history of education. It is also an unprecedented attempt at writing a European overview on the subject, which lends itself to both a quantitative analysis, showing the unequal treatment of different European countries within the chapter, and to a qualitative analysis of the various choices made by the authors to place their subject within a European perspective. The chapter “Education and training” ultimately appears as a hybrid tool, which contributes both to the renewal of research and the sharing of knowledge, and which can help us design a truly European and popularised history of education. | ||
