Leibniz’s work does not present itself as a fully achieved system, but as an open-ended enquiry, endlessly resuming problems and inventing new conceptual means for solving them. By taking drafts, sketches, corrections and additions into account, the genetic method aims to show the movement of Leibniz’s thought in the process, without neglecting the specific stance of each text nor excluding any attempt at general interpretation.
