520			_aRésumé : L’objet des contributions ici réunies est d’examiner comment la philosophie se pense à un moment singulier de son histoire, la période moderne, remarquable par ses bouleversements et ses ruptures. De la diversité donnée des démarches et des contenus, des traits communs peuvent être relevés, qui permettent de caractériser cette période comme un moment important de la vie de la raison : celui de son émancipation. La raison, faculté des idées claires et distinctes, se détermine en ce siècle comme un point de départ, un pouvoir souverain de commencement, et la philosophie se saisit elle-même non pas comme une connaissance historique ou dogmatique, mais comme une connaissance rationnelle, dont le principe, note Hegel, « consiste à voir, sentir, penser par soi-même, à être là soi-même ».
520			_aAbstract: The object of the contributions collected here is to examine how philosophy thinks of itself at a singular moment in its history, the modern age, an age that is remarkable for its upheavals and its ruptures. Common features can be picked out from the diversity of approaches and contents given here, which make it possible to characterize this age as a crucial moment of life and of reason: that of its emancipation. Reason, the faculty of clear and distinct ideas, ascertains itself in this century as a starting-point, a sovereign power of commencement, and philosophy grasps itself not as historical or dogmatic knowledge, but as rational knowledge, the principle of which, as Hegel notes, consists of seeing, feeling, thinking for oneself, of being here oneself.
