520			_aRésuméLes pratiques résidentielles des classes moyennes de Mexico sont abordées à partir d’une lignée familiale arrivée en ville en 1927, et suivie sur trois générations. L’étude s’attache aux ruptures et aux continuités que manifeste chaque génération, replacée dans son contexte socio-économique, en matière de localisation et de filières d’accès au logement.Ces deux aspects sont analysés en termes de cycle d’intégration urbaine comprenant l’ensemble des stratégies matrimoniales, professionnelles et résidentielles des différents membres de la lignée urbaine. On s’interroge ainsi sur les raisons énoncées par les acteurs pour justifier leurs choix, en vertu d’une logique pratique qui englobe à la fois des principes d’honneur et de tradition, une rationalité matérielle et une capacité d’adaptation à la conjoncture.
520			_aResidential rupture and continuity from generation to generation amongst the middle classes in Mexico CityResidential practices amongst the middle classes in Mexico have been studied on the basis of the history of a multigenerational family, starting from the family’s arrival in the city in 1927 and continuing through three generations. This study examines the phases of rupture and continuity, which have marked each generation, replacing each phase in its socio-economic context, in terms of both location and opportunities of access to housing market. These two aspects are analysed in terms of urban integration cycles, covering a range of aspects including the matrimonial, professional, residential strategies of the different members of the urban family line. The author then examines the way these strategies are justified by the individuals, in relation to a practical logic, which embraces principles of honour and of tradition, material arguments and the capacity of the individual to adapt to new circumstances.
