Après une présentation de ce mode de transport et du contexte général dans lequel il se développe, seront étudiées les transformations qu’a contribué à induire le zemijan en réponse à un besoin de mobilité. Seront enfin abordées les interactions avec les politiques urbaines pour envisager quelques solutions globales au problème de la mobilité urbaine.

A description of this means of transport and of the general background to its development is followed by an examination of the changes that led to the zemijan’s emergence as a response to a need for mobility. The paper finally deals with the interrelationship of these services with the city council’s policies in order to bring out prospective overall solutions to the problem of urban mobility.
