520			_aRésuméDans son séminaire sur le transfert, Lacan étudie Le banquet de Platon. Dans ce séminaire, il stipule que le psychanalyste a un antécédent historique : c’est Socrate. Lacan prouve que dans ledit dialogue, Socrate fait une manœuvre digne d’un analyste, dans la mesure où, lorsque Alcibiade lui déclare son amour, il le renvoie à un autre : Agathon. Socrate « interprète » Alcibiade, dans le sens de lui dévoiler l’objet de son désir inconscient. L’intérêt de cette perspective c’est que le transfert n’est pas considéré dans le sens de la relation intersubjective, ce qui renforcerait selon Lacan la confrontation imaginaire, mais plutôt dans le sens de sa détermination symbolique. Malgré cela, il y a bel et bien interprétation du transfert ou, pour être plus précis, interprétation dans le transfert. C’est à partir de cette manœuvre que Lacan a pu inventer la notion de « désir de l’analyste ».

The interest of this perspective is that the transfer is not considered in the sense that it is an intersubjective or interpersonal relationship (which would, according to Lacan, reinforce the imaginary confrontation), but is rather considered in the sense of its symbolic determination Nonetheless, there is indeed an interpretation of the transfer – or rather, there is interpretation in the transfer. From this manœuvre, Lacan was able to invent the notion of “the analyst’s desire”, even though it remains to be seen what relations might possibly obtain between this notion and that of countertransference.
