Après avoir décliné les rhétoriques séditieuses et répressives, respectivement mises en œuvre par les acteurs du mouvement et par les autorités, nous nous attachons à analyser les premiers récits et témoignages portant sur le soulèvement normand, avant de réfléchir au traitement qui est réservé à ce dernier dans l’historiographie officielle : à travers ce flot de discours concurrents ou parallèles, c’est un phénomène de construction d’un événement historique par l’écriture que nous entendons explorer. | ||
| 520 | _aRecounting the Revolt: The Example of Normandy’s Va-Nu-Pieds in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries This article studies how the Revolt of the Va-Nu-Pieds (1639) was described in words and stories throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. After presenting the seditious and repressive rhetoric used by the actors in the movement and by the authorities respectively, we endeavor to analyze the first stories and testimonials about the Norman uprising before reflecting on how the latter, in particular, is treated in the official historiography. Throughout this flood of competing or parallel discourses, we find the phenomenon of writing constructing a historical event, which we intend to explore. | ||
