Ce concept limite permet d’aborder les affres somatiques auxquelles se confrontent notamment les patients cancéreux aux prises avec d’intenses remaniements psychiques. Les cliniques du seuil témoignent d’une dissidence pulsionnelle repérable dans le fait que les limites du corps, dont le tracé compose avec le pulsionnel, deviennent plus indiscernables. En proie au débord, le corps devient le lieu d’un combat dans lequel la libido jette ses dernières forces.

This borderline concept allows us to approach the physical distress that cancer patients in particular are confronted with, while undergoing intense psychic reorganization. The threshold clinics signal a pulsional dissent that can be observed in the fact that the limits of the body, whose outlines are partly determined by the drives, become more indiscernible. In the midst of an overflow, the body becomes a battlefield in which the libido throws its last forces.
