By way of example, he underlines the extent to which the emergence of this ritual is not the product of a concerted effort or will, but rather the involuntary result of an accumulation of elements that owe their obviousness more to his own gaze than to their original nature or function. In the course of the article, the links between the individual’s attempts to free himself from the group or groups to which he belongs and the establishment of what will become a time and a place for recovering a form of individuality and a means of self-assertion are highlighted.
