520 _aThe so-called Z.U.S ( Zones Urbaines Sensibles, meaning Sensitive Urban Areas) are places of the social deprivation in France in which most of the young inhabitants are of immigrant stock among others. The language they speak shows clearly they belong to the world of the suburbs, as it makes use of the linguistic forms typical of the so-called F.C.C. ( Français Contemporain des Cités, or Contemporary Suburban French). These forms are revealing of certain social behaviors typical of their environment. They also demonstrate an existence of social violence and the reactive violence it engenders. All these can be observed in the suburbs of French cities.
