| 520 | _aOpen forum theatres were content for a long time to develop forms of deliberative democracy. The task that remained to be accomplished was to make the citizen one of the vectors of participatory democracy, a source of inspiration for political decisions. This proved possible thanks to the experience of a theatrical assembly in a town, the aim of which was to facilitate dialogue between civil society, elected representatives and administrators by encouraging people to work together. The aim was to enable the various protagonists involved in “youth” policies to “take part”, “make a contribution” and finally “obtain a benefit”. While overcoming resistance to change, this approach enabled an informal democracy to develop by considering the confrontation between different forms of expertise as essential. It was about learning again to debate without violence, relying on collective intelligence and shared decision-making in order to build better public policy together. | ||
