520 _aThe adoptive experience touches the very core of what links us to one another. It sounds out the roots of the filiation link by questioning its nature. To the obviousness of natural-looking links, the blood links, the adoption opposes the fragility of a mutuality link. Thus, rather than being a parental link by default, the adoptive link throws light on any parental link: if the begetting is by nature, the relationship is by designation. Becoming the prototype of the parental, the adoptive link then asserts that there is no birth that does not await its recognition.
