Réfléchissant sur les données gallo-romaines à la lumière d’approches renouvelées des phases monumentales du sanctuaire, et des traditions hagiographiques locales médiévales, il amène à penser que des éléments religieux celtiques, procédant d’un fonds gaulois antérieur à la conquête, ont pu jouer un rôle central dans l’institutionnalisation et la monumentalisation du sanctuaire d’époque impériale. | ||
