520			_aDifférentes sources nous montrent l’utilisation d’esclaves comme nourrices qui enrichissaient ceux qui possédaient ces femmes, tout en exploitant le corps féminin, ce qui a été défini comme la « rente de maternité ». Face à cela, des études s’intéressent aux relations affectueuses que certaines élites entretenaient avec leurs nourrices, jusqu’à ce qu’elles soient libérées en récompense, ce qui a été analysé par l’historiographie comme un exemple d’humanité, ignorant l’utilisation des capacités allaitantes des nourrices comme celles du corps féminin. Il est intéressant d’analyser ce que cela signifiait pour les esclaves d’être utilisées pour nourrir des gens libres mais aussi servile.

This job provided wealth for those who owned slave women; however, it is also an example of female body exploitation. Along with this conception, there are stories about close relationships between some of the upper classes and their wet nurses, who after years of services, and as an award, were manumitted, a gesture that has been analyzed by historians as an example of humanity within slavery; however, this approach ignores the abuse of female slave body. All in all, it is also interesting to reflect about this occupation, focusing on what it meant to be wet nurse for free people and slaves.
520			_aDistintas fuentes nos muestran el uso de las esclavas como nodrizas en la antigua Roma, que proporcionaban riqueza a quienes poseían a estas mujeres, al tiempo que explotaban el cuerpo femenino, lo que ha sido definido como el “alquiler de la maternidad”. Frente a ello surgen relatos sobre las relaciones de afecto que determinados integrantes de la élite tuvieron con sus nodrizas, hasta llegar a liberarlas como recompensa, lo cual ha sido analizado por la historiografía como ejemplo de humanidad, ignorando el aprovechamiento de la capacidad lactante de las nodrizas y del cuerpo femenino. Resulta interesante analizar qué supuso para las esclavas ser utilizadas para alimentar a personas libres, aunque también serviles.
