Cette contribution analyse les arguments évoqués pour justifier cette suppression et teste leur cohérence. Trois arguments principaux sont identifiés : un argument « ontologique » (il faut supprimer le mot race car les races n’existent pas), un argument historique (il faut supprimer le mot race car il appartient à un système discursif obsolète), enfin un argument expressiviste (il faut supprimer le mot race car le geste ainsi accompli est un symbole puissant d’antiracisme). En définitive, ces trois arguments obéissent à ce que Charles Mills a nommé une « épistémologie de l’ignorance » que la contribution s’attachera à préciser comme version française de la « colorblindness » du droit constitutionnel américain. | ||
