This success could be explained by the syncretism of the hero of the day as well as of the festivities and ceremonials which drew from both the post-revolutionary public celebrations and the Breton catholic culture. It could also be explained by the preeminent part very soon played by the army. Veritable invented tradition the Carhaix festivals celebrated the native region and accomplished its inclusion in the nation.
