520 _aThe socioeconomic and political situation in Cameroon has been difficult since the 1990s. In particular, the socioprofessional status of youths has been a source of worry. The youths have to prove creative and struggle every day to survive in a situation where a minority of patriarchal and demagogic politicians have maintained the country in a state of “maldevelopment”. The article proposes a sociological analysis showing that the materialization of the intuitive ability of young people to face the adversities of life can be read through the urban transport sector. Thousands of young bendskinners adjust to unemployment and struggle to overcome the constraints of a State that has proved “unable” to set up appropriate supervisory arrangements and uses multifaceted violence to try to control the rapidly emerging moto-taxi activity.
