520 | _a"Paradoxical and destructive, anorexia nervosa is still a pathology of teenage girls. Due to its enigmatic nature, anorexia invites us to go beyond the exploration of intrapsychic slope in order to pinpoint illness at the heart of family dynamics and of its avatars. Here, the notion of “incestual” is particularly relevant to the serious consequences it has on sexual identification and on identity of the victim; these issues are the crux of anorexia. Also situated under the sign of paradox, this concept highlights anorexia as the result of the incestual relationship and a defense against it. Through the case of 17-year-old Daphne, this paper examines the issues of anorexic behavior and its relation to “incestuality.”" | ||
