520 _aThe article focuses on the link between masculinity and the use of physical force among workers and executives in a large company, in the context of the transformation of capitalism, marked by offshoring and the growing power of shareholders. Based on an ethnographic study focusing on a factory in the south of France, the article analyzes three events involving the use of physical force, between two unionized male workers, between a group of male employees and a factory executive, and between a senior manager and another accounting executive who assists the trade unions. These three episodes are used to analyze the use of physical force according to the social class of the men involved and lead to a questioning of the types of masculinity that are deployed in these situations of conflict between individuals and between groups.
