| 520 | _aThis article examines the impact of successive wage norms on local hierarchies through the wage policies implemented within a financialised aid programme in Antananarivo. While observing the way in which the aid scheme is inscribed in individual trajectories and helps to influence them, the article also looks at how individuals in a subaltern position engage in the scheme. By focusing on the trajectory of two employees, it seeks to understand how this intersubjective movement participates in (re)defining a moral economy between them and their employers. It shows that as empowerment increases, the system tends to break the implicit terms of this contract and helps to forge new horizons and lifestyles. | ||
