520			_aDu début du xxe siècle aux années 1950, en Égypte, le geste de se dénuder se politise. Cet article s’intéresse à la façon dont des militantes et artistes mobilisent le dénudement dans leurs répertoires d’actions et dans leurs stratégies rhétoriques à des fins nationalistes ou féministes. Cette recherche propose ainsi un panorama chrono-thématique des questions relatives à la corporalité féminine, mises au-devant de la scène par ces femmes engagées. Des années 1900 aux années 1920, l’étude se focalise sur les corps féminins dans la rue, visibles, mobilisés et révélés au nom du «  bien-être de l’humanité ». Puis, pour évoquer le tournant des années 1920 aux années 1930 l’analyse porte sur les corps dans les sports ou à la plage, exposés et «  bons » pour la nation. Enfin, la réflexion se déploie sur les «  beaux » dénudements et la patrie dans les arts, la mode et les concours de beauté, du milieu des années 1930 aux années 1950.
520			_aIn Egypt, from the early twentieth century until the 1950s, the act of uncovering women’s bodies became politicized. This article looks at how women writers, activists and artists mobilized the removal of clothing in their repertoire of actions and rhetorical strategies, for nationalist or feminist purposes. It offers a chrono-thematic overview of the issues related to female corporality, brought centre stage by these women. Looking first at the early period, up to the 1920s, the study reflects on the presence of the female body in the street: visible, mobilized and revealed for the “wellbeing of humanity”. It then considers the 1920s and 1930s, when baring the body in sports and on the beach was seen as useful for the “good of the nation”. Finally, it analyzes the relationship between “aesthetic” bodily exposure and patriotic perspectives on “beauty” from the mid-1930s to the 1950s, in the arts, fashion, and beauty contests.
