520			_aThe psychiatry professor Edouard Zarifian passed away February 22, 2007. Through his works, some of which were well received by a large audience, he contributed to democratization of the psychopathological subject and to a better knowledge of the psychiatric system. His professional career as professor, expert, and researcher having led him to the heart of research ideology, he was able to broadly criticize it. His epistemological questioning of a pseudo-scientific research led him to reject the very concept of illness as far as its application in the mental field is concerned.
