520 _aIn a changing, complex environment, meeting the requirements of the protection of minors entails seeking adaptive, many-sided, interdisciplinary and complementary responses. These new requirements are felt both on the level of the demands of society and by the professionals in the institutions, who for several years have consistently been undermined. Taking the youth into account necessitates, aside from thinking things through together, taking risks in order to support the quest for meaning of youth in serious trouble. The proposed approach depends on creating a setting for the professionals serving as resource and multiple locations where the adolescent can, little by little, sometimes against the stream, rise up and take charge of his/her own fate: such “rising” relates to a setting in which housing is only one element, and in which each institution, each professional plays a role in a perspective of: decentering, diversification, complementarity, suppleness, reactivity, and proximity.
