520 _aOne of the most complex roads of the Iberian Peninsula quoted in the Antonine Itinerary is the so-called road XXI. Its route in a zig-zag movement has been a polemical issue. In this study, I show the problems of this text according to its route and the roads in the surrounding area linked with it. Then I provide a new hypothesis of correction. The provincial limit between Baetica and Lusitania is linked with this text and this has a central role for its comprehension. For this reason, I also take into consideration the spatial perception of this road and the imbrication with the road system and provincial administration of this area.
