Perinatal home visits offer an opportunity for an early and preventive intervention for families living in precarious situations. The stress generated by their living conditions can lead to parent-child relationship problems and child development disorders. This article summarizes the literature on perinatal home visits and describes the practice of perinatal support services set up in French-speaking Belgium.
