520 _aBased on the clinical case of an adolescent suffering from an issue of shame and a breakdown in the maternal bond who had been placed with child welfare services, the author examines how family listening can change individual listening, using the concept of the shame-bearing genealogical scenario developed by Pierre Benghozi. Taking that author’s reasoning further, a shift is suggested from intrapsychic listening in family therapy towards a transpsychic approach, since an expressed intrapsychic shame can also be the reminder of an unutterable and unelaborated transpsychic shame.
