520 _aSociologists can employ statistical tools to understand the uses of law. While often debated when applied to the sociology of deviance or criminality, these tools are rarely discussed in the sociology of law. Drawing from examples in labor law, we analyze both the recourse to quantitative data at the intersection of legal sociology and other sociological approaches, as well as the methods of inquiry employed in empirical research.
