520 _aIf we adopt the point of view of the poor, we can interpret the development of capitalism (or generalized market systems) as a Raubwirtschaft (an economy of continual and increased plundering) encouraging capital accumulation and covering spending of the rich. In this perspective, social movements of the poor often have an ecological aspect (perhaps only implicit) when they try to keep natural resources under community control and outside of the formal economy.
