520			_aLa péninsule du Sinaï oscille dans la presse entre la menace d’un « nouvel Afghanistan », un « verrou stratégique » vis-à-vis d’Israël et le théâtre des luttes politiques internes égyptiennes. Cet article a pour objectif de mettre en lumière ces différences au moyen d’une analyse de la place de ce territoire au sein de trois titres de presse écrite. Les résultats de cette étude permettent de dégager deux principales visions du Sinaï : celui-ci semble à la fois oublié sur le plan socio-économique et très convoité d’un point de vue géostratégique. A priori antagonistes, ces deux représentations géopolitiques sont en réalité imbriquées et reposent sur un même socle historique et géographique.
520			_aThe media portrays the Sinai Peninsula in a number of ways: as a threat of a potential “new Afghanistan”, as a “buffer zone” with Israel, or as the stage for Egypt’s domestic political struggles. This article focuses on these differences by analyzing the territory’s role in three newspapers. The results help identify two main visions of the Sinai Peninsula. It appears to be both forgotten in terms of social and economic issues and highly coveted from a geostrategic point of view. Seemingly antagonistic, these two geopolitical representations are actually interconnected and built on the same historical and geographical foundations.
