520 _aThis article examines actors on the fringes of journalism who produce content to fight disinformation. They produce videos on YouTube, which they consider to be the most effective way of debunking theories, beliefs, or information they consider false: fake news, pseudoscience, and conspiracy theories. They claim to be skeptics and zetetics. Our aim is to understand the issues at stake in debunking and its differences from fact-checking, in terms of strategies and perceived effects on the public.
