520 _aNear-death experiences (NDE), described as exceptional experiences, have been the subject of a wide-range of multidisciplinary studies for many years. NDEs shed new light on our relationship toward death, as well as the processes of change in the face of such experiences. The field of spirituality and religiosity, which is becoming a specific area of study in psychiatry, offers alternative therapeutic perspectives (not developed in this study), allowing patients confronted with suffering to develop additional modes of adaptation. The link between NDEs and spirituality forms the focus of this research study, by positing an increase in the spiritual dimension in subjects who have experienced an NDE. Our analysis of the literature underlines the potential causes explaining this increase, a key driver of behavioral changes, and raises key questions on the use and understanding of the spiritual dimension from a clinical perspective, to offer improved support to patients who have gone through this type of experience.
