In support of a comprehensive approach, the article shows how devices are being used to balance equality between women and men in the digital field. The “Les filles qui” research field involves digital mediation workshops created in elementary schools in Brittany. The experience redefines the role of professional identity and is helping it evolve. Female students discover a place between big sister and scientific savant. Teaching staff identify in students potentialities which are not mobilized by traditional schools. Their professional identity evolves from a logic of qualification to a logic of competence, without one annihilating the other. The participants design an alternative: a partnership regarding devices that fill gaps by bringing them benefits in terms of the image and representations of the profession.
