This gave me the idea to study the frequent convergence between these two themes (such as the motif of the “magic circle”). I was reminded of the German term “ der Bann” whose semantics combine the two meanings. A study of this word and the verbs pertaining to it proved worthwhile. One is thus faced with a power, admittedly of life and death, but which aims primarily to register and project a reversible limit on a space. | ||
