520 _aFrom its 1998 Africa tour the contemporary dance company Mathilde Monnier brought back traditional objects bought on markets and in antique shops of the different countries crossed. The analysis of its members’ relations to these objects, integrated from now on in their home world, shows in fact that through this alterity at home it is themselves that they observe and display. Exotic objects are used as mirrors, media of intimate expression and transfer.
